CAA Volleyball Weekly Awards – Sept. 14, 2026

RICHMOND, Va.  Charleston’s Caroline Noonan and Julie Nzambele secured CAA Volleyball Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively, while Hofstra middle blocker Julia Amorim captured Defensive Player of the Week recognition on Monday.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Caroline Noonan, Charleston
Sophomore | MB | Charlotte, N.C.
Noonan averaged 3.31 kills per set on a whopping .535 hitting percentage to go with 1.23 blocks per set in Charleston's 4-0 week. Noonan began the week hitting .667 with 11 kills in a road sweep of Presbyterian before hitting .636 with eight kills and six blocks in the sweep of Duquesne. The middle blocker went on to post a week-best 13 kills versus Northern Kentucky, adding five stuffs at the net in the 3-1 win. Noonan also logged 11 kills and four blocks in the sweep of Notre Dame, helping the Cougars earn their first home win over a Power Four conference team since 2014.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Julia Amorim, Hofstra
Sophomore | MB | Pavuna, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Amorim was stellar defensively for Hofstra in their two matches against Liberty and Army West Point last week, averaging 1.70 blocks and 1.10 kills per set. She totaled 17 blocks across the weekend, while also adding 11 kills and four digs. Against Liberty, the middle blocker tallied a match-high nine blocks and added six digs. She followed that up with another strong showing at the net with eight more stuffs, five kills and four digs in the reverse sweep of Army West Point. Both blocking totals were the highest for a Hofstra individual this season and rank as the second and eighth highest in the CAA this season.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Julie Nzambele, Charleston
Freshman | OH | Fort Mill, S.C.
Nzambele played a key role in helping Charleston win all four matches last week. The freshman outside hitter averaged 1.77 kills per set on a .221 hitting percentage to go along with 14 digs and seven blocks. Her best match of the weekend came in the team’s sweep of Notre Dame, hitting .304 with eight kills, eight digs and a pair of blocks. The Cougars are on an eight-match winning streak following the weekend of action.
