Rhode Island Maintains Positions In FCS Top 25 Polls, Four Other Teams Receiving Votes

RICHMOND, Va. (September 14, 2026) – Rhode Island maintained its position in the latest FCS Top 25 polls, with four other CAA Football teams receiving votes in either the Stats Perform or AFCA Coaches rankings.

Rhode Island (2-1) stayed at No. 8 in the Stats poll and No. 13 in the AFCA poll for the second straight week following a 31-10 victory over Elon last Saturday. The Rams visit Stony Brook in an important CAA matchup this week.

Campbell (2-1), Elon (2-1) and UAlbany (2-1) received votes in both the Stats and AFCA polls. The Camels fell 52-3 at SEC member Florida last Saturday but return home this week to play North Carolina A&T in their conference opener. The Phoenix was beaten 31-10 at Rhode Island in their first CAA contest but will try to bounce back with a home CAA game against Sacred Heart on Saturday. The Great Danes pulled away from LIU, 35-13, last week and will be back at home against Monmouth on Saturday.

Monmouth (1-2) received votes in the AFC rankings. The Hawks, who were beaten 49-14 at Western Michigan last Saturday, visit UAlbany on Saturday.

Campbell was ranked No. 23 nationally this week by Redshirt Sports and No. 24 by FCS Nation Radio. Rhode Island was ranked No. 10 by FCS Nation Radio and No. 13 by Redshirt Sports.
