LENERT, DIALLO EARN TOPDRAWERSOCCER NATIONAL RECOGNITION
RICHMOND, Va. -- Charleston forward Matt Lenert was selected to TopDrawerSoccer.com’s National Team of the Week, while Drexel junior Mo Diallo received honorable mention recognition, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
Lenert scored three goals across two victories last week, earning his second CAA Player of the Week honor by helping the Cougars defeat Winthrop, 4-1, and USC Upstate, 2-1. The Falls Church, Va., native scored twice against the Eagles before netting his second game-winner of the season against the Spartans. He has a league-leading six goals (5th in NCAA) and 14 points through six matches. Charleston enters the week with a 4-1-1 overall record and a 1-1-1 mark in CAA play.
Diallo recorded a career-high four points, including his first career goal, in Drexel’s 4-3 victory over Northeastern. The Paris, France, native scored in the 33rd minute after assisting Aamir Ketbache on the Dragons’ opening goal. Less than three minutes later, he set up Tiago Lima-Bittencourt for the eventual game-winner. Diallo’s four-point performance was the most by a Dragon this season and helped Drexel earn its first CAA victory of the year.
