Ella Sanders and
Damisi Osibodu swept CAA Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, for the second time this season, while Towson middle blocker
Clara Vorel earned Rookie of the Week recognition on Monday.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ella Sanders, Stony Brook
Junior | OH | Albuquerque, N.M.
Sanders led the team with 34 kills (4.25 K/S) in a weekend sweep of William & Mary. The junior also produced 30 digs (3.75 D/S) and 12 total blocks on defense. The Seawolves’ middle blocker had a double-double in each match, starting with an 18-kill, 13-dig outing on Friday. The Albuquerque, N.M., product flirted with a triple-double in the team’s five-set victory on Saturday, rattling off 16 kills, 17 digs and a career-high seven blocks. Sanders also eclipsed 700 career kills and 100 career blocks over the weekend.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Damisi Osibodu, Stony Brook
Sophomore | MB | Katy, Texas
Osibodu unloaded 21 total blocks during the Seawolves weekend sweep at William & Mary. The sophomore also slammed down 11 kills along the way. The Katy, Texas native opened the series with seven blocks on Friday, before setting a new program record with 14 on Saturday. The middle blocker’s 14 stuffs were the most in a conference match since Northeastern’s Nyla Shepherd logged 15 against Stony Brook on Sept. 17, 2023. Osibodu also led the defense to a record-breaking 22 total blocks on the afternoon.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Clara Vorel, Towson
Freshman | MB | Rincon, Ga.
Vorel posted a team-best 10 blocks across the Tigers' two wins over Northeastern to begin CAA play. She added 12 kills on a .367 hitting percentage, one assist and two digs over the weekend. The Rincon, Ga., native slammed down eight kills on a .571 hitting percentage in the conference opener on Friday, chipping in five blocks. She closed the weekend with another five stops at the net and added four kills to her final line on Saturday.
