Lula Arcila picked up CAA Women’s Soccer Offensive and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively, while fellow Husky
Eliza Teplow shared Defensive Player of the Week recognition with Stony Brook’s
Jona Hennings on Monday.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Meg Umemoto, UNCW
Sophomore | Midfielder | Inagi, Tokyo, Japan
Umemoto helped guide UNCW to a 6-0 win against Hampton with a brace to keep the Seahawks (6-0-4) unbeaten on the year. The Tokyo, Japan product first scored in the 69th minute with a long shot from almost halfway down. Umemoto struck again in the 80th minute off a pass from Jada Tuffin. She was the only Seahawk on Sunday who had more than one goal in the 6-0 win.
CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Eliza Teplow, Northeastern
Senior | Goalkeeper | Wellesley, Mass.
Teplow posted her fifth shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory at Drexel to open CAA play for the Huskies. The Wellesley, Mass., native made five saves in the game to register her fifth clean sheet of the year. Her five shutouts are tied to lead all CAA goalkeepers.
CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jona Hennings, Stony Brook
Senior | Goalkeeper | Brake, Germany
Hennings shut out Monmouth to open conference play victorious. The senior keeper faced 20 shots from the Hawks and turned away all four attempts on net to notch her third clean sheet and fourth win of the season.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lula Arcila, Northeastern
Freshman | Midfielder | Miami, Fla.
Arcila produced a brace in the team’s 3-0 victory at Drexel on Sunday. The two-goal effort also marked the first two strikes of her collegiate career. The Miami, Fla., product put the game away with goals in the 65th and 83rd minutes. Arcila helped deliver NU its first CAA opening-day win since the 2023 season with her brace.
