CAA Football Weekly Awards - Sept. 28

RICHMOND, Va. (September 28, 2026) – CAA Football has announced its weekly award winners for Week 4 of the 2026 season. Campbell senior quarterback Kamden Sixkiller earned Offensive Player of the Week accolades while North Carolina A&T freshman linebacker Donavan Frederick received Defensive Player of the Week honors. North Carolina A&T freshman kicker Asher Holland was named the Special Teams Player of the Week and Stony Brook redshirt freshman defensive end Khalid Bueno and Elon freshman running back Kamerin McDowell-Moore shared Rookie of the Week honors.
CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Kamden Sixkiller, Sr., QB, Campbell (Norman, Okla./Norman)
Sixkiller completed 24-of-31 passes for 308 yards and a career-high tying five touchdowns in Campbell’s 44-20 win at Hampton. The senior added a team-best 73 yards rushing on only five carries. Three of the five TD passes came during a 31-point third quarter as the Camels broke open a 13-13 tie. Sixkiller has thrown for 300+ yards against all four FCS foes.
CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Donavan Frederick, Fr., LB, North Carolina A&T (Fayetteville, N.C./71st)
Frederick contributed a team-high 12 tackles, 2.0 TFL’s and three PBU’s as North Carolina A&T knocked off No. 19 Rhode Island, 22-18. The freshman led an Aggies’ defense that forced four turnovers to beat a nationally ranked team for the first time in eight years. Frederick doubled his previous high for tackles and broke up two passes on URI’s final drive.
CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Asher Holland, Fr., PK, North Carolina A&T (Durham, N.C./Jordan)
Holland was 3-for-3 on field goals in North Carolina A&T’s 22-18 victory over Rhode Island. The freshman booted a career-long 41-yarder in the first quarter and added field goals of 31 and 21 yards in the second quarter. The freshman accounted for 10 of A&T’s 22 points in the game.
CAA Football Co-Rookie of the Week
Khalid Bueno, R-Fr., DE, Stony Brook (Philadelphia, Pa./Martin Luther King)
Bueno recorded five tackles, 3.0 sacks and two quarterback hurries as Stony Brook defeated Fordham, 31-16. Two of the redshirt freshman’s three sacks came in the fourth quarter as SBU held the Rams to three second-half points. Bueno leads FCS with 7.5 sacks and 11.5 TFL’s and has had at least two TFL’s in four games.
CAA Football Co-Rookie of the Week
Kamerin McDowell-Moore, Fr., RB, Elon (Tarboro, N.C./Tarboro)
McDowell-Moore rushed for a career-high 126 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries in Elon’s 43-17 triumph over Maine. The freshman broke loose for a 55-yard TD run in the second quarter and added a 6-yarder in the third quarter. It was the second 100-yard effort for McDowell-Moore, who is 2
nd in the CAA in rushing (481 yds).
