CAA Field Hockey Weekly Awards - Sept. 7, 2026

RICHMOND, Va. -- Drexel's Fleur Hamers was named the CAA Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week, while Towson's Lydia Bennett earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Hofstra freshman Malena Bertone rounded out the weekly awards, securing Rookie of the Week recognition for the second time in as many weeks on Monday.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK  
Fleur Hamers, Drexel 
So. | M | Enschede, Netherlands
 Hamers totaled five goals, one assist and 11 points to help the Dragons go 2-0 last week. In an 11-0 victory over LIU, Hamers tallied four goals and eight points. She followed that performance with the overtime game-winning goal and an assist in a 4-3 victory over Saint Joseph's.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK  
Lydia Bennett, Towson 
Sr. | D | Maryland Line, Md.
Bennett helped anchor the Tigers' defense to wins over Georgetown and Rider.  The Tigers allowed just one goal across two games. Towson defeated Georgetown, 3-1, before blanking Rider, 1-0. Bennett played a key role in the Tigers' defensive effort, helping limit opponents to just one goal over the two-game stretch. The Tigers held opponents scoreless for seven consecutive quarters, including a shutout of the Broncs.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK  
Malena Bertone, Hofstra 
Fr. | D | Santa Fe, Argentina
Bertone scored the game-winning goal in the Pride's 5-4 victory over Wagner. She recorded two goals in the contest, marking her second multi-goal performance in three games. Bertone finished with four points and five shots in the win.
