CAA Football Countdown To Kickoff - Stony Brook

Our CAA Football Countdown To Kickoff rolls on with a look at the Stony Brook Seawolves. Stony Brook put together the biggest turnaround in FCS Football a year ago, posting an 8-4 overall record (5-3 CAA) in its first season under AFCA National Coach of the Year Billy Cosh.
Expectations are high for the Seawolves, who are a consensus preseason Top 25 squad. The offense welcomes back All-America running back Roland Dempster, who rushed for 1,332 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2024, and big play receiver Jayce Freeman, who made 23 catches for 506 yards and six TD's.
On defense, the Seawolves bring back their top two tacklers from a year ago in linebackers AJ Roberts and Anthony Ferrelli. Roberts tallied 86 stops and 4.5 TFL's, while Ferrelli was close behind with 84 tackles and 5.5 TFL's.
